Moving someone in

If I moved a partner into my home to which I am sole owner, can they ever make a claim if we split say 5/10 years down the line?

Your other question on more or less the same subject.

    You have your answers there

Looks like you were advised to consult a solicitor.
So, yes, you have your answer.
There isn't a standard Yes / No response to this. It is complicated.
    Time to lawyer up.

It's the same question as before but the other way round .

The answers are the same to both questions.

They could attempt a claim. Though without a legally binding document such as a Deed of Trust. They would struggle. Courts can only rule based on the law. They are not arbitration panels to resolve differences between warring ex partners. Major obstacle would be cost. Soon run to 5 figures.
