If I moved a partner into my home to which I am sole owner, can they ever make a claim if we split say 5/10 years down the line?

They could attempt a claim. Though without a legally binding document such as a Deed of Trust. They would struggle. Courts can only rule based on the law. They are not arbitration panels to resolve differences between warring ex partners. Major obstacle would be cost. Soon run to 5 figures.0
