Let's Talk Tablets

Hi all since lock down, am in mood to ask questions. For information and see what everyone opinions are. Good way to learn 👍

So Currently we have Pixel Slate , Apple , Samsung and Microsoft Tabs.
So what Makes it buy worthy ? Is there Brand following ? Or are the hardware really that top notch for the price ?

Is the Operating system They run better over one other ?
Are  Samsung Knox , Apple built in security, Microsoft defender , Google built in chip Just as good as eachother or do they perform better than one other ?
What does everyone prefer ? Or what do you currently own ?

  • On an iPad Air 2, it’s good, simple enough for my non tech savvy mum to use, and a broad App Store range. It’s got a large crack on it (don’t ask why!) and is still the same as before. The battery is still good (5 years later), and I love it. I’m getting an iPad Pro for Christmas as I prefer iOS to Android for simplicity and the fact iCloud means I have the same songs and photos on all my devices.
  • iPad used it over a laptop for the last 9 years. Comfortable to use, easy to use and ton of great apps. Great for consuming media and being creative on it. My sister has used iPad since 2012 and past 3 years done her uni work on it.
  • My Grandma has a (rarely used) Amazon Fire which we bought for Christmas, it’s really laggy and has a limited app range.

I have an iPad Air at home and use a Surface Pro for work.

I actually walked into a store to buy a Samsung Tab and walked out with an iPad.  After trying, I found the 'desktop mode'  on Android to be a buggy OS hack, not something I would want to use daily. Shame, the base specs were much better on the Samsung, I just felt the OS sucked.

Overall I think iPad has the best experience, easy to use and the thanks to the iPadOS release they have most of what you would want from an OS. I don't have a laptop, so I use it for simple work tasks and it's good for that too. The surface pro is basically just a small laptop - I can run my 4k screen off it with ease - but obviously they are extremely expensive.

I've always found Samsung tablets to be excellent and butter smooth. I had an iPad which was fine, but, I ditched the Apple scene entirely and moved on.

Surprised no one mentioned pixel slate tab
    I appreciate everyone's thoughts 😊
For those who use safari how fluid is it compared to Google? Is apples privacy real or is more a marketing strategy?
Can tablets use any printer ?
Would desktop feature work with any monitor?

So here run down what's going on in my head, basically I need a device to use for website/blog . But I had something I wanted cover. They may not seem much of a issue. But unfortunately my past experiences online abuse 😔 has made scared on just doing things. That out way

I want something compact hence was thinking tablet ( if fills the role)

    1. I will be printing here and there.
    2. Will use some basic or available creative tools
    3. I was looking to go with WordPress ( but it has plugins that may need installation to use some things ) so would a tablet work and will the plugins work in app or tablet browser eg safari , Google or other
    4. Cuz of my experience in past, I Struggle to get things done cuz peace of mind. But I understand nothing 100% secure but What browsers or tablet will help with privacy and security  e.g is Knox good , Apple Chip ? Etc
    5. Is wordpress security pretty good ?

Please any advice or suggestions or what set up to have etc. Apologies for any inconvenience to anyone
