Accidents do happen but as parents we should try as hard to prevent them.
After watching the program I threw away the magnetix in my house - my 10 year old has them but I also have younger children and even the most resonsible parent cant be there 24 7.0 -

well i have bought a load for my 5yr old and i know he is not stupid enough to put these in his mouth and consume them, espically when he was 3yrs , playing with his older brothers sets.0 -
Thats fine wookie, each parent to his/her own.
I expect the parents of the 12 year old on the film thought the same.
You dont have to justify giving them to your children.
How many millions of children have/are playing with magnetix and have no problems? probably loads but its different to swallowing small parts from other toys, if they get past the throat then they find their way out, these things dont. Its not too bad if they swallow one, its 2 or more in short succession and theres problems.
These little bits do the damage on the way down and I dont think they over dramatised the programme.
As I said in my first post on this thread I just wanted to help raise awareness to parents not get the stuff banned0 -

Well i hope he can read the box better than you can because it clearly states that this is for 6yrs and over!!0 -
There are little bits in everything lego, KNex etc but at least if you swallow a part its plastic not a havey magnet.
I don't think any parent can say their child wouldn't do that. I think parents should stand up and just not buy these items like in the States, until they change them and make them safer.
It was only a few months agao and Bindee's and Mattel toys were taken off the shelves because they were dangerous.0
