*Advice Please* No response to request for CCA

A few months ago I sent off 2 CCA requests. I received a reply from one but I haven't heard back from the other (wescott) . I had a payment plan with stepchange  but put this on hold until I had confirmed if the debts were enforceable, so I'm not currently paying anything towards them. My question  is how long should I give them to reply before I chase them? I want to settle the debt as I wish to apply for a mortgage in the next 12 months  so would like the default (defaulted 2018) marked as settled. Also is there a particular reason why they may not have replied?
Thank you in advance 😊

    Hi,
Wescot only act on behalf of their clients, they tend to be reluctant to get involved in CCA requests as they don’t see it as their responsibility to pass the request down the line to there client, even though guidance states they should do so.
Your debt is currently unenforceable, as they have not responded to you, you could send the request again, this time to the original creditor, or chase up wescot, it’s up to you, and doesn’t change the accounts status.

Though, am I right in thinking it would show as partially settled, rather than settled on the credit report? Sorry to be pedantic but would have thought this would make a difference to mortgage providers (I may be wrong).

Thank you both for your reply.
Yes it will show as partially settled rather than settled, sorry should have made that clear. I know with having 2 defaults my mortgage options will be greatly reduced and I'll research brokers who specialise in poor credit.
Sourcrates, thankyou. I will chase it up with wescott again. I'm in a position to offer a partial settlement and I understand with it currently being unenforceable due to them nor responding to my request, this may work in my favour to be able to negotiate a smaller settlement figure?
Would you advise offering a settlement in the letter that I send to chase up the CCA? Or chase it up first, await a response and then look to negotiate? Are there any templates that may be helpful?

Instead of rushing into a mortgage with a poor credit lender at a shocking rate, why don't you wait a few years to build up your credit file and savings too? I know it's a nightmare renting etc but there's no point jumping from one financially burdened situation to another. Don't do it until you're completely financially secure.
