Well after a lot of changes and things happening I fell off the debt busting wagon for quite a while, my old diary was long forgotten but now things are as good as things can be during this time and I’m back on it.

I have got rid of a bit of debt during this time but not huge amounts and at least it’s not increased so that’s a positive.

Where I am at the moment:-

Tesco £126/£0.00 - gone,
Cabot £150/£0.00 - gone
Lowell £967.98
Lending Stream £1,137.00
Lowell £1,226.11
Old rent £2,211.00
Robway £2,298.43
Cabot £2,505.93
Robway £7,045.61

Total £17,668.06

A lot to get through but I can afford £263 a month so I’ll be getting there, I’ve made offers to them all and they’ve all accepted them so at least there’s a plan in place it’ll take me 5 years and 8 months so I’m going to try my best to bring that down.

I’ve set up saving pots for spends as well as Christmas and birthdays. I’m as organzas I can be right now and I have furlough coming in thank goodness I got my contact in January else I’m not sure where I would be right now.

Just had a phone call I’m back on Monday I’ve never been so glad, plus to keep staffing down we are all getting overtime so that’s even better. The weeks have gone so slow lately and I’m so glad I’ll be back to a normal routine. I’ve also. Ow been moved permanently to the site closer to my house which will save me £20 a weeks ish so that can get thrown to debts too minus £20 of that which I’ve now budgeted for a clothing allowance as and when I need them. I don’t but too many clothes as it is mostly from charity shops so I shouldn’t spend anywhere near that but it’s good to have it there.

Well done for getting back on the wagon.

When you say made offers, is this for some kind of payment plan rather than settlement offers?

    August 2019: £28.8k

    November 2020: £0 (0% interest)

  • Hi Ryan I’ve made offers for monthly amounts so I can afford to pay them all an equal amount with what I can afford.

  • Last day of my first week back at work tomorrow and I have to say it’s been tougher than I thought it would be. I’ve struggled and been so tired all the time. From next week I’m back on my normal shift 2pm to 10pm which I prefer I hate getting up early in the morning. The 5am starts aren’t good at all for me I feel like I have no spare time. I’ll find out what wages I’ll get on the 22nd so I’ll know if I can pay more to debts.

Some paid off today, £16.93 paid to lending stream and £37.30 paid to Cabot, the rest is on direct debit so will be paid Monday, total to be paid this month will be £263.

I’ve been keeping to my budgets for all my expenses, finally meal planning properly and only having one take away a month. Tonight we had a KFC I think in the past I’ve been so tight with my budget I’ve been miserable and gone off track so decided this time I’m going to treat myself a little.

  • Got a letter at work yesterday and I’ve been thinking about it, redundancies are about to happen and from what I can tell the first wave will start next week. I’m praying I’m not one of the ones going but I’ll soon find out. I can go back to the agency that got me this job and they said when I got my contract they would definitely find me employment again. I’ve looked at my finances and I’ll be ok I’ll just have to put debt payments on hold for the time being.

its scary times for so many right now and businesses are struggling I never thought for one minute I would ever see something like this on my lifetime. For now I’ll try and stay positive and deal with whatever happens.

I'm of the opinion (and that's all it is) that debt reduction is always good. Feel free to disagree!  :o)

Not posted for a good while but still chipping away at the debt. Works stressful but I’m thankful for a job when so many aren’t so lucky.

Paid another chunk off so it currently stands at:-

    Lowell                     £888.65
    Lending Stream      £1,069.30
    Lowell.                    £1,153.10
    Old rent                  £2,079.44
    Robway                  £2,195.80
    Cabot                     £2,356.73
    Robway.                 £6,730.97

    Total £16,474.00
Total paid back this month £263.00

Another two payments and I’ll be below £16k it’s definitely getting there slowly but surely.
