Rossendales....

Everyone's favourite company have added yet more fees (reason unknown) on to a council tax bill I am trying to pay off! The original amount was £1286.68, of which I immediately paid the £86.68 and offered to pay a set amount each week. They dismissed this, added on £75 and said I must pay £40 each week. This was in August 2019. I wasn't happy about this but got on with it....til Christmas. Found out that my place of work would be closed for 3 weeks and that I wouldn't be getting any pay as I'm 0 hours. I immediately informed my landlord, Jacobs, Rossendales and everyone that would be affected by this and that the soonest I could resume payments for Jacobs and Rossendales would be the 14th January. Jacobs were brilliant about it (they're now paid) but Rossendales said I had to keep up my payments. I told them again(!) that this wouldn't be possible - no money, no payments - and resumed on the 14th as promised, made my next payment on the 21st and on the 22nd, had a nice visit from one of Rossendales baliffs who could see the payments, listened to my situation and clearly couldn't understand why he was there. Unfortunately I still ended up with £235 added onto the account. I have since been paying every week, no fail at all and today have just gone to make my payment and £45 has now been added on! I've had no notice of this. I've emailed them but I'm not hopeful. Just how many times can they add on erroneous amounts like this? Really feel like this is never going to get paid off.  :-(
