Theoretical Question. If you had savings of £40000 which would exclude you from Claiming Universal Credit could you, in theory, purchase 100 gold sovereigns worth £400 each but with a face value of £1 thus reducing your savings to £100

I mean you could try to hide it, but someone's going to notice 40k going missing overnight. and then you get done for fraud.0
