Hi. This is probably a basic question but what is a Mortgage Deed and by signing it does it convey ownership of a property to a mortgage lender?

A quick search of google:

Your lender will be putting a charge on the property as you have a mortgage with them"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

If you take out a mortgage on a house you still own the property, contrary to what some people say. The lender has the legal right to some of the proceeds when the house is sold.
