You're kidding yeah? You're comparing 2 totally different products, one free range and one low end supermarket chain. There is bound to be a difference in price and quality.

It was a subtle dig. Read the OP and then the rest of the thread - the poster I quoted did not answer the OP and does seem very suspiciously like advertising.
  • i normally get mine fromaldi too as mentioned by other posters also noticed iceland had one about the same size ifaldi has sold out for £10 exactly

It wasn't that subtle. I think you made your point perfectly clearly.

I know this is a bit of an old thread but we were in Asda today..... 1 Turkey Crown (£6.95 a Kilo and it was 3.?? kg I think). £21 for a Turkey Crown... I could not believe it... I started to moan at my missus and she moaned back that if she didn't get it then we might not have Turkey on Xmas day.

Apparently she had checked in Lidl and they had none (apparently getting them Monday) I wonder how much they will be...

Personally I think £21 for a pretty average size crown is a rip off.... but then maybe I am just be tight fisted!!

Last year I bought my turkey crown at Makro it was fresh and a 5.5kg bird cost me under £18 it tasted great :)

Unfortunately no deals this year :(

Here's the prices from 2007 as a comparison to today

  • Iceland in Egham are currently selling some Turkey Crowns for half-price due to over ordering. £14 crown for £7. Perfect!
Not sure if all Iceland are doing this though
