Dental advice needed please

Just before the lockdown i visited the dentist about my crown (tooth number 2 lower right) because its a bit wobbly and i keep getting a bad taste in my mouth, he did an x-ray and said the tooth has split in half down the middle, the plan was to remove it the following week but because of lockdown my appointment was cancelled.
Now 8 weeks later the bad taste is driving me mad i've tried mouthwash , salt water, sucking sugar free mints any suggestions please
