Better comping system with the new style forum - I think

Also if you use the default sorting of the forum (by last post time) there is the problem that when you've done page 1 and you're going through page 2, a comp from page 3 can be bumped to page 1 and you might miss it.3 -
All of these are versions of "As posted" and how I comped when I first started. However, we had a week away and I found it overwhelming trying to catch up. So many comps being posted back then.
Comping by end date is pretty much impossible as entered / skipped can't be seen in search, Can bookmarks?Worse things will have happened in the world today..."The only thing that really matters, it to love and to be loved."2 -
I'm the same, I start from page 1 until I hit the comps I've already entered. Then I go back to page 1 to see if any have been added.
This only works because I'm able to check daily at the moment. Might not be the best way once I start working again!

Thank you all for your kind replies.
It seems to me that there is an obvious and clear 'winner', in respect of which is the best system. Clearly the best system is...
Whichever suits us best, individually.
Having said that, it's probably helpful to have a discussion about it, occasionally, as one system mentioned might inspire someone to try a new approach.
Happy comping Guys

I am who I'm meant to be
I'm not scared to be seen
I make no apology
THIS IS ME!
When you talk down to others it says more about you than them.4 -
Sorry if I'm slow but is there still no way to get the daily emails?0

I do the same as smitchy73 for the main comps thread.
For Take A Break Puzzle Magazines and Puzzler.com I've started keeping a simple notebook page open on my desktop and I just cut and paste the details of last comp I entered since there is no easy way of knowing which ones I've entered without scrolling through compliments. I tried relying on the New posts tag but found that I had missed a few entries if the New posta spread on to a new page. For example - here is todays notepad paste.Regular Comps
Take A Break Puzzle Magazines P320 E: 28/05 My Favourite Puzzles May p75 - £50 - answer = KRISTEN STEWART
PUZZLER p60 Q Cash Competition Competition ID: 13450 answer - WIDE
I only use Bookmarks for Postal/Txt comps and the daily Radio Comps so I do open every comp so I can Skip or Enter it. Maybe need to rethink this.
For the Magazine Daily Comps I use my own set of links to the home page of each of the Magazine's Comps. I login and then open a new Window for each Comp I want to enter for that Magazine. I do the Mags in Groups so for example I open separate windows for every comps I want to enter in the following 6 Mags - Mens Health, Country Living, Goodhousekeeping, Housebeautiful, Cosmo and Prima and work from Window to Window and enter each one. All these Mags behave the same way and force a wait of 10 seconds before the Congratulations message so I just move windows about while waiting for the Congratulations message. After the last Congrats message I close all the windows at once. I suppose this could be done with Tabs as well. It helps having a large monitor.
I rarely do any of the Instagram and Facebook Comps if they ask for Tags or Shares. On Facebook it's against their Ts&Cs to ask for a Tag or Share but it isn't policed. If it's a comp I would really like to enter on FB I send a message to the page owner telling them that they are breaking FBs Ts&Cs and have had some success getting them to change the entry method. Allegedly Facebook downgrade a page if it indulges in Engagement Baiting (Facebooks own term). I wonder whether there could be a separate thread for Social Media comps which I could ignore instead of opening and skipping them all. Ive just looked at the last 400 live comps posted and about 25% are Instagram comps.
Best Comp wins in 25 years of comping. Holidays to Hawaii, Toronto, Thailand twice, Dubai twice, Cyprus, Spain, Lake District, Glasgow and London. A couple of £1000 wins as vouchers. 2 Dimplex Fires. Baby cot and chest of drawers. £500 of blinds. Shibumi Jacket. Various small cash prizes under £500 and shopping vouchers. Cosmetics & weedkiller!0 -
