Thank you for the advice people. I have spoken to the companies where there are arrears and have agreed plans to get out of them as soon as possible. They were really helpful in the discussions. Once the arrears are cleared I can then go through a DMP. I really want to clear Marbles as soon as possible as they're the only ones that keep calling me.

I have also just started getting calls from Wescot in regards to Paypal, I haven't answered and blocked their number. No doubt I will get another letter in due time.

What has really helped me is saving month to month for the big things that come up one or twice a year - MOT, Christmas, car insurance etc. Plus having a separate spending account for day to days like groceries and petrol separate from my bills DD account really helps. Then there's no way of accidentally overspending. 

Most of us on here have been there. You've accepted it now, and there's no reason to beat yourself up over past mistakes forever. Have you completely knocked the gambling on the head, self excluded with Gamstop etc?

Yes, I'm now embarking on the baby steps, I like him as he tells it as it is. I want to get his book at some point. As for the gambling, I haven't self-excluded with Gamstop, I've either closed (self-excluded) on the sites I was registered with, or put the smallest limits on. It's the only way I can send money to Paypal to chip away at that debt. They stopped me transferring money from my bank accounts, but money can be paid in by other means.
