Hi there hoping someone can help. I have debt with PRA £1799.02 the debt is no longer on my credit file and they have confirmed the debt is unenforceable. I tried my luck and said I can get £200 together to clear this debt and they have come back to me saying..
"We appreciate your offer of £200.00 offer, however it is below what we can accept as a full and final settlement. The settlement we can accept is a payment of £1,709.07, which means your account will be closed and we will not contact you again about it."
Can i go back with anything else? What would the the best thing to do or offer??
Is it worth waiting until Feb 2021 near end of financial year and offer again? Or shall i just keep going back with a counter offer?
I am not currently paying them anything monthly as they were on my DMP but thought Natwest paid them with a PPI reclaim but they didnt and I paid off other debt with it instead.

Unfortunatly some creditors can be stubbon even with unenforcable debt, they will have paid pennies for that account, so holding out hoping you suddenly find religion and pay them what they are asking, costs them nothing. If you end up paying them nothing, they will have lost a few pence in the pound, no big deal, if they convince you to pay up, Bingo its win win for them, its all a numbers game, they have nothing to lose, and everything to gain by hanging on.Personally I would just walk away and not play there little game, but thats me.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. I'm with sourcrates on this and my advice is to simply walk away, at least for now, and concentrate on the enforceable debts. You'll find that if you ignore them completely, they will start offering you higher discounts as time goes by. I have three UE debts with them and haven't paid anything in over 2 years and have ignored all their letters - it's taken that long for their discount offers to reach a stage where I might consider clearing the debt, just to draw a line under it. Two out of the three are hitting the 70% discount mark - one is still only at a 30% discount. So there's no real 'magic' number and no means of guessing either.1

Hello all,
I took your advise and have ignored PRA Group but they do keep ringing my mobile which is rather annoying! I have blocked the number (or so i thought) but i just seem to get a 121 voicemail from them with a recorded message each time saying they have been trying to get hold of me? It doesn even ring as a call i just get 121 ringing? Is there anyway i can stop these calls? I have quite a few a day ? Many thanks0 -
Best way is either answer the call and tell them to remove your number, don't get into a conversation - just say that you insist that they do and all commuications are to be dealt with in writing, then hang up. Or, if you don't feel up to that - write and tell them to remove your telephone number from their records and that you will only correspond in writing. If, having done either you find calls continue, you send one last warning that you will take the matter up with the ICO - and that tends to do the trick.1
