Hi all,
My niece's daughter hasn't paid mobile bill. Been passed on to a collecting agency who keep phoning my niece, who tells them her daughter doesn't live there no more and to stop phoning. Has received a letter to say someone will be calling round, so now my niece is panicking. House is in her name nothing to do with the daughter.
Wants to know what she should do? I.E. they cannot remove any belongings from house as it is her gear?

Not only can they not take anything from her house, they are not allowed to harass people. Your niece should tell them to only deal with things in writing, not to phone her. She can complain to the office of fair trading, and the collection agency could have their license revoked. If she writes to them explaining this she shouldn't have any more bother.
