in Cutting tax
hi all I have just submitted my self assessment form for 2019-2020 but am unsure of when to pay the amount due. Will HMRC let me know or is there a specific date?

And don't expect any refunds until then, either - HMRC is not forwards when it comes to returning over-payments.
Corny - these random posts on DT is inhibiting the free-flow of discussion given that the page navigator is still missing. There are important matters that need to be thrashed out here.No man is worth crawling on this earth.

I think you probably need to PM him, and/or report the thread if you want to make sure that someone sees this. Or maybe use the new 'taggy' thingy.Rosa_Damascena said:And don't expect any refunds until then, either - HMRC is not forwards when it comes to returning over-payments.

Repayments are generally a lot quicker than you suggest. Even looking at the posts on this forum, they appear to be getting issued within 2 - 3 weeks of the return being submitted, unless there is a reason it has been sent for further review.Rosa_Damascena said:And don't expect any refunds until then, either - HMRC is not forwards when it comes to returning over-payments.

As for the OP's original question, any balancing payment for 2019-2020 will be due on 31st January 2021.
