Have reported the oven for fixing but haven't heard back yet. I've planned another 7 meals that can be done on the hob/slow cooker just in case it doesnt get sorted this week.
Did papier mache craft with the kid this morning. She loved it- I hate stuff like that so i did pretty well.
Read another chunk of Wolf hall - about half way through currently. I'm going to see if i can find the series once ive finished Bottom line;

This week I've moved my family debt repayment pot over to NSI bonds. The interest rate on my savings accounts is so low i'd only be making pence and I think the chance of winning a prize (especially since I dont play the lottery) on bonds is worth the loss of 18 odd pence from my savings.
Incidentely this is the first time ive had over £1000 of my own money saved up....ever. Nice little milestone.Bottom line;

I think it takes some getting used to having savings when you aren't used to them, its like it burns a hole in my little pocket usually lol. I currently only have £200 in my EF again but it isn't easy to access so think that will help me in the short term, seeing it there but getting used to not spending it lol. Good news on the ebay sale, it all adds up and even better when its something you know you won't use xKakiste said:This week I've moved my family debt repayment pot over to NSI bonds. Thanks. I think you're exactly right, I actually feel better about them being somewhere that isnt my bank account. I know that I'm not going to go on a mad shopping spree as that's not my style but I'm very much guilty of 'oh I'll buy the kid some clothes and put it back when i get paid.' 'I'll get a takeaway because I'm knackered and put it back next time i have excess money' etc and then its death by a thousand cuts.
I know that the only thing i'm going to use that money for is debt repayment.
It just makes it easier not looking at it!

That's me to a T, I worked my way through £1000 last year with a food shop here and things for the kids there. I wouldn't have dreamed of drawing out £1k and booking a holiday but the £100s quickly add up. Lessons learned for us both hopefully

Cooked up a batch of sweet and sour sauce this evening so its got 24 hours to thicken before we have it for dinner tomorrow.
It looks very more-ish!

I managed to save £2000 but we found our conservatory was falling down and and had to replace it in January of last year so that went along with getting a 5year bank loan for the rest. We now have about 3years left to pay as I am making overpayments whenever I can.We are back up to £600 as I dont want to have nothing as we have had most of our lives.4
