Widow's Pension Index-Linked?

My late husband had an index-linked final salary pension; when he died I inherited half of it.
Should my half pension also be index-linked or are there no hard and fast rules? I have tried to ring the pension provider several times in the last week, but with the current situation am unable to get through, so thought I'd ask you lovely lot.

It always 'depends on the rules of the scheme' but it would be very unusual for a spouse's pension not to be increased in the same way as the member's pension. If you can lay hands on a scheme booklet, or any paperwork sent to you at the time your husband died, that should give you clarification.1

I would say in the vast majority of cases yes. If you name the company someone may be able to offer more specific help.

The couple of these I have known have been index linked each year under scheme rules.1

Very many thanks to you all. Have managed to get through to the pension provider this morning and now awaiting a letter from them.

I realise that this is probably of interest only to me, but on the off chance that anyone else is interested I've had a reply (impressively speedy in the current circumstances) and the pension is indexed. Thank you so much to Dox, molerat and xylophone for taking the trouble to reply - very kind of you.1
