Debt

Hi ,I'm in debt of over £23000,I've got a large tax rebate of £10,500  coming which I hope will help pay my debts off ,but the worry i have is I've just checked my credit report and it says that creditsafe limited have done a search on me for debt collection,I'm now worried sick does this mean I'll have debt collectors at my home ,can anyone inform me ,thanks kath

    Have you any CCJ's against you? This would be the only reason why someone may visit (with the court's permission). Anyone visiting without the court's permission risks having their collars felt.

    Please can you just stick to one thread per subject, it just saves on confusion for people replying to you.
    A credit search for debt collection means nothing, they are checking your address, its very common, plus only two companies i know of still operate doorstep collectors, its just not cost effective for them.
    And of course at the moment, and for the forseeable future, no one will be knocking on your door due to covid-19.
    Debt collectors mainly work from call centres employing the phone as ther number one weapon of choice, yet creditsafe are not debt collectors, they provide credit report services, so your over reacting a tad here methinks.

    It means nothing.

    Kath - are you looking at full & final settlement deals as your lump sum is under 50% of your debts?
