Natwest loan and closed account

Hi so my account with natwest was closed and I had a loan with them all fine and good but when calling the account closure team and asking them how I can pay my loan back they said to setup a standing order  from another bank to my now closed natwest account and It will go thru and they will take the money from the closed account after on the due date of the loan.
But i did a little test because I don't trust Natwest and their advice I transferred 0.01£ from HSBC bank  account to my now closed natwest account and guess what the transaction was reversed back to hbsc.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
(they also stated that because I have a loan the account is still open but can't be accessed and I can still pay standing orders)
I am afraid when the sanding order goes thru the amount will be reversed back to my bank account and I might get a missed payment marker on my credit file from natwest because of insufficient funds on the account that was closed by them.

Call NatWest to confirm you have the right details.

Called multiple times and the answer was  always standing order. Only team that has access to account is closure team nobody else and it's like the highest department.

If you paid the closed current account the money would be returned. You need to pay the loan account directly.

It's not the payment mechanism you need to check.

    It's the account details.

Agree with above suggestions. If however you cannot find the details, then you need to ring, write and e-mail NatWest asap to advise them that you don't have the details to make payment. Do this before your next payment is due so that there is a physical log that you have tried to make a payment. BUT ask that they confirm the details in writing (by e-mail if they cannot point you to an official document on the Nat West website). do not use the bank details given by telephone without being able to confirm them from a written source.
If you seek to resolve issues with making payments before the amount is due and can prove that, organisations are a lot more amenable than if you take no action until after the payment needed to be made.
May you find your sister soon Helli.
    Sleep well.
