NatWest and Probation Period?

Hi there, as per advice on a previous thread, we contacted NatWest to update them on my husband's new job. We have provided the first month's payslip and his contract as they requested that too. He has been in continuous employment for the required 6 months but this new job has a 6 month probation period. How likely will they send the mortgage offer to the underwriter and how likely is it that our offer might be withdrawn? We are due to complete in 6 weeks time. Many thanks!

    From NW site:

    Employment status

Applicants must have been living in the UK for a minimum of six months and have had six months' continuous employment in the UK. We class it as continuous where there is no break of more than 3 weeks between employments. The client would need to be in their current position for at least one month and have one month’s payslip showing their new income.  If self-employed, two years accounts required.

Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.

By all means, ask advice on a internet forum but I wouldn't have opened up the issue so close to your completion date unless it was something negative like a redundancy.

To be fair the OP has done the correct thing, the OP will have agreed to the offer on the basis of any new financial changes to be notified.

Would you prefer to keep quiet and lender asking for  a payslip and finding out it's different, offer pulled and put on fraud register?
There's a time and a place to keep quiet about things, but doing so on a mortgage process, risks you not getting one ever.

Lenders are not stupid and have been asking for payslips to ensure they are still in employment and not made redundant due to the current crisis

Even though not redundant they will be asking why the new job was not declared, every lender treats probation different. What the Op could have done is push back the new job to after completion, that would have been safer
