Thanks, everyone. I've had a positive response from Virgin Money. Even though they confirmed what's been said above, and directed me to NRAM, they also agreed to send Scottish Widows a letter confirming that they do not have an interest in the policy. They've said they will also send me a copy too. Hopefully this, along with any response from NRAM, will facilitate a positive outcome.1

Just to confirm - its taken a little while for Scottish Widows to act on what Virgin Money sent them but they have actually paid out yesterday. Thanks for the advice, and I know what to do when my second policy matures in Jan 2021. Alex :-)
