How do I reclaim N.I.?

Every year my annual income is below the NI threshold but there is the odd pay period where I go above it for that period (4 weeks) and get NI deducted. I've never had a refund and can only find forms to reclaim type 2 and 4 contributions. How do I get the money back?

You can't. NI is calculated per payment.4

why would you want it reclaimed. even just a few pounds go toward your contribution record.
I've received a credit in some years for as little as £5 of NI.0 -

I've received a credit in some years for as little as £5 of NI.You get NI credits for earning over £120 a week (the Lower Earnings Limit) , but only start actually paying NI on earnings over £183 a week (the Primary Threshold). So it's perfectly possibly to get NI credits whilst working without paying any NI at all.1
