Solicitors Holding money won from Client

Hello,
I hired a debt collector solicitor 24/09/19 to help recover a large debt owed from a work client that was refusing to pay last June/July 2019.
The result was successful and the client finally agreed and paid all debt between October and November 2019 also having to pay the solicitor fees on top of that.
The solicitors informed me that they hold money for 1 month to avoid clawbacks and also that they were changing legal status so there would be no payment in December. Then I was Informed in January this year that funds would need to be held for 90 days under 'Money laundering acts'.
I have been told a number of dates that have passed unpaid. To this day I have not received any money.

Because of this gap in pay i have incurred my own debts and will have to pay into my business account to cover some costs. Am I entitled to compensation for solicitor negligence on this as they have held my money for so long, or is this all legal?
Many thanks,
Many thanks,

Hi Contact the Solicitors Regulation Authority and make a complaint against the firm. They should not be holding on ton your money like this. They should also give you interest if funds which have not been paid over.0
