Irresponsible lending

Hi. I'm currently in the process of contacting my creditors for a payment plan. I've had a few people mention to me about irresponsible lending. If I were to pursue this how would I go about it.
My only reason for looking into this is that I already had quite high debt levels but people were still lending to me on relatively good rates and offers. Which has obviously all come to a head. This has all had a very negative affect on my depression and anxiety.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

The fact they were offering you good rates suggests that they data they had available to them and your application details implied you were low risk. If a lender believes someone is an irresponsible borrower, they charge high rates.
Who do you believe lent irresponsibly and why? You'll need to provide them with specific details in your complaint.1 -
relatively good rates and offers - doesn't sound like payday lending.
Debt camel does have guidance on most kinds of lending but the more mainstream the lender the less chance of success.

Payday lender you can claim off
If things like bank charges put you in 'hardship' you can reclaim those
You can reject automatic credit card increases
My understanding is if you borrow but then find you can't afford it you talk to the lender, then you look at things like DMPs, IVAs etc. If you apply for credit and then say I want to claim to have this debt written off because I shouldn't have been lent it, it's likely to be a tough ask (soz).
Maybe post up an SOA; there are a lot of good ppl on the forum who can advise you on dealing with your debts as they stand👍Admin for Tilly Tidy to £1825 DFW challenge: 2021

As said, your only hope will be if it is payday lending
Ask yourself why there are no programmes on anything but.???
It is all Martin Lewis is good for. TBF.
I feel pretty angry knowing 6 years of exceptional payment history on a credit card designed to build credit history see's me hit over the head (nearly 40 on 16k for lots of hours) with a paydown plan which I feel very wrongly worded and with little information. I am meant to think ok knowing out of £150 - £111 is interest alone once the credit card company has effectively hiked in the limit and decided to higher rates.
No one ever asked me to confirm income of expenditure or whether I agreed. Someone in the FCA did after organising millions to be given out in compo in payday loan customers ONLY.
In years to come I envisage arguing as to whether I entered voluntarily or unvoluntary when I can't get employment possibly in chosen sector - amazing people on drawn down plans are meant to soak it up and be branded scam by the likes of zx81 whether as payday loans there is the never ending option of appearing on TV or receiving millions back.
It is bad enough that I had to wake up to good stuff yesterday morning reported by the CRA's come end of working day I am down 15 points because I am near the limit someone else decided I should be at......0
