1-2 December -What one small DFW/MSE thing have/will you do this weekend

Hello everyone!!

Apologies if that has already been started but I couldn't see it anywhere. Welcome to another month!! What small steps will you be taking on your DFW journey today? I will be:

- Making an overpayment onto the CC
- Batch cooking and meal planning for the rest of the month
- Taking some bits to the charity shop (helps me declutter and is moneysaving for others)
- Doing my washing at 30 degrees and drying it on the line

Have a lovely weekend everyone :)
MFW :)

writing shopping list for tomorrow, so should probably meal plan.
may sprinkle the mustard seeds on the veggie plot towards the green manure, but probably not the right time of year.
  • Borrowed a dress from a friend rather than buy one for a christmas party tonight.
Found a couple of miniatures (vodka) that I think I might put in my bag in case drinks are expensive! Or might just use them anyway!

-Not gone out so far, probably wont tonight (but thats cause no baby sitter, but still saves money).
    - using washable nappies on baby
    - will do loads of washing later, at 30 and will dry on the radiators
    Think thats it for now.
  • Not having heating on, putting things on ebay tonight
We have a guest staying with us at the moment - I will insist all switches are switched off and heater in the room is not on when not in use!!
    Love a charity shop bargain
  • Put the decorations up and sang carols with the kids, it was a wonderful family day without spending any money.

  • 1. Catching up with the spreadsheets this weekend….end of month reconciliation and all that. Bank one is done and of course in credit. One would expect nothing less from a Goody Two Shoes such as Moi. Will look over all the other ones too as I <sob> really love my Spreadsheets – hee hee.

    2. Really toying with the idea of getting a flock of three or four chickens next spring or thereabouts. Been doing a lot of reading about them. A while ago I picked up an excellent booklet in the charity shop for 10p. I have a good sheltered patch down the far right of the garden that would suit a large run and hen house.

The veggie patch could be fenced off quite easily. It would be important to me that they are “free-range”, wondrously happy and content and able to wander about at will....er… that is… right up to the time <whisper>…. chicken soup is on the menu. :D

    3. I might stretch out on the really soft, comfy sofa a little later…. Just to save energy and slow down global warming you understand.

DFW Tip: Regularly check your local charity shop for any of your book needs – you will be amazed and filled with wonderment and awe at the variety and quality you can find for a few pennies. :)

  • Hi

    Kind of both for me:

walked into town to get my new glasses and got soaked - money saving
going to cook my tea instead of phoning for takeaway - money saving

heating on full (just recovered from a virus don't want it back) - not money saving!

    1 step
If you wait for perfect conditions, nothing would ever get done! :T
    I'm not short - I'm condensed awesome! :p

    Hi everyone!

    This weekend I have:
    >Written a new December budget, as I too love spreadsheets and figures! This is money-saving for me, as like many others, if I have a budget I tend to stick to it. In fact last month I was around £70 under budget - wahey!
    >Used my free bus pass to go into town.
    >In town I spent a lot of money (oops) but I got a student discount in some shops so that's a bonus.

    This weekend I will:
    >Put £200 into my savings to go towards my 'save £3,000 challenge'. I usually put £250 in, but I'll need the extra fifty for Christmas this month. I usually get money from relatives for Christmas, and if I do, it'll go straight into the savings, otherwise I'll have to put three hundred in during Jan.
    >Buy a train ticket to go home for Christmas. By booking in advance, I'll save a lot of money, plus reserve a seat for myself on the train during the busy period.
