hi all, so today I received a text from Natwest saying they had been advised of my insolvency and not to use any cards. I logged into my online banking and my old current account and loan accounts had disappeared. All that was left are the two savings account which are in my children’s names. (I had emptied these, wasn’t sure if they could use offset). I have emailed next and advised them of my insolvency and I’m trying to tell Very but can’t find an email and the phone lines are so busy.
I have been advised there is no need to interview me and after a quick call from the asset team to check I wasn’t furloughed they have agreed my SOA and I just have to pay £30 per month until the end of the tax year instead of council tax. She advised me I should tell the council myself about this as it takes a while to filter through. Barclays have been sent a letter regarding my pre bankruptcy account so waiting to see if that will be closed and all my DD seem to be set up fully from my post bankruptcy accounts in nationwide and Barclays. I returned all my forms today that needed signing, just scanned and emailed as no post being received into the office at the min. I feel like I should be doing something but no idea what. Maybe it’s because I am not worrying constantly about money, it’s a strange feeling. What happens next? Will the OR be back in touch? Will the utility company be informed? Mobile phone company? I have no arrears with either of them. I feel like I had all these questions and because they decided no interview needed, I dont have any answers
Thanks

I would perhaps contact the utility companies, if nothing else so you can supply them with meter reads, so your new bills are accurate.Generally you don't need to tell the creditors, they will hear soon enough from the OR. In many cases the frontline staff won't know what to do with bankrupty information anyway. If a creditor calls trying to collect yiu should of course tell them of bankruptcy, but if they don't call or write asking for more info I'd leave them to itThe saving accounts I believe belonged to your children, rather than you, obviously with you managing the accounts for Childs best interest. Note this doesn't mean you can give them all moey pre bankruptcy, the OR would see round that quickly, but for nlrmql child savings they are safe. Of course yiu may want these with your day to bank for convenience0

Thanks, I actually just gave them meter readings today as my latest bill was an estimate. I’m currently £100 in credit on both the gas and electricity accounts so hoping they would let me stay of DD and not move to a pre pay meter.
I was only going to tell Very as they keep texting me saying they have been trying to contact me and to pay but they haven’t called at all in the last 5 days.
Next sent me an email asking for immediate payment so I told them.

I think by and large prepayment is reserved for those who have ran up debts on their utility bills, although this may vary from supplier to supplier. If your suppliers want prepayment meters perhaps worth asking here to see if there are other suitable suppliers who wouldn't want one
