Word on my Spanish hiking fb page is that Spain will expect all foreign visitors to self isolate for 14 days on arrival starting from May 15th

Spain has no plans to open borders or allow non essential travel. At this current moment you cant even go from one province to another.

Yes, Spain has confirmed that from this Friday all arrivals must self-isolate and although no date for ending has been given, it is expected to last until at least the end of June. At present the UK advice is not to travel anywhere, anyway0

Thanks for the link
Seems like the Spanish Government has failed to get support for their announced lockdown rules, have they now completely reversed the decision on foreign tourist

You bumped a thread after 4 months of inactivity to be a pedant? 🙄🙄fosnightmare said:The correct spelling is 'its' not 'it's' as it's is shortened spelling of 'it is', so your heading (effectively) reads ' Have Spain effectively closed it is borders'.4 -

Don't be so harsh Bradders. Forget how much time has passed; we come on this website to pass the time during COVID lockdown, so an error is still an error and a bit of pedantry is always good for a laugh. If I really wanted to know if I could travel to Spain, I wouldn't ask a bunch of random strangers on this forum. I clicked on this thread for fun.
Anyway, FusssniteMare has missed a semantic trick! Spain (the subject of the title sentance) is singular, thus the verb form should also be singular; "Has" not "Have". After all, one would not say "the pedant have spotted a mistake" but rather something "the jackass has an idea". On the other hand, if it was "Spain and Portugal" ... "Have" would be entirely correct.
And before someone says I should get out more; I entirely agree. This week I SHOULD have been in Spain; striding the high valleys of the Picos de Europa in Cantabria and Asturias, drinking "Leibana Joven" and eating Cocido and Fabada.
But here I am, banged up at home not because "Spain have closed its borders" but becoz Boris and Matt have sed "No" (as any fule kno). And the irony that Asturias is the region with the lowest level of Coronavirus transmission in the whole of Spain - 371 per 100,000 compared with over 2,300 in Madrid - so a sight safer than Bolton, and that travelling there in my own car, in a nice big private, air-filtered cabin on a Brittany Ferry is a sight safer than taking the bus in London) has not escaped me.
Hasta luego gringos0
