Hunters Journey to being Debt Free

Hello all,
Ive been a long time lurker on the forums and have always read everyones Debt Free Diaries and have taken so much away from these.
My Journey started in January of this year when i suffered a mental breakdown when discussing finances with my partner and I realised how much of a bad spot i had put myself in over the past year. Im only 23 and had just just moved out of my parents house to move to our own flat with my partner.
I had taken out 3 credit cards in the space of a year with Limits of £450, £250 and £200 respectively and had run these up right to their limit and had just denied to myself and everyone that i hadn't done it. I Know that these limits may seem like nothing compared to some limits that people may have on here but to me these were massive and i struggled massively to even dent them. I Had also taken out a £2000 loan with a Credit union which was a massive mistake.
Thanks to my partner I finally found the courage to tell my Parents/Grandparents what was going on and i couldnt believe how supportive they were of me during that first stage.
My Debt was as Follows
Aqua Credit Card - £434 out of £450 used.
Vanquis Credit Card £226 out of £250 used
Capital One Credit Card - £185 of of £200 used.
Loan Balance - £1610 from £2000. Had problems with paying this Loan to due Financial Struggles for a few months
Thankfully my partner has been supportive of me and over the last 3 months and especially now thanks to being furloughed from work i have managed to make a dent into these which are as follows.
Aqua - Now Down to £156 (£294 Paid Off) first time the balance has been below £300 in over a year.
Vanquis - Cleared!!!! - First Time I have ever had this balance at £0 on this card.
Capital One - Now at £137 which has been the card i haven't bothered paying much to up to this point as it had 0% interest on it but now have to start paying to this as this period has now ran out.
Loan - £1204
I now have the dilemma of whether to Cancel the cards once the other two are at £0 balance or to set these up to pay 1 bill and then pay the statement balance.
Thank you all for reading

Hello HunterMH72
Congratulations on starting your own diary, and also on the amazing progress you have already made!
I am so sorry to read that the debt affected you so much mentally, and I have certainly suffered myself when my debt was at its highest of £20,000.
You are on the right path and seems like you have a great support network!
Keep going with even small payments as often as you can, and you will see the total come down in no time.
I was unsure exactly what you meant in regards to closing the accounts part at the end of your post?
Looking forward to following your progress and good luck on your journey to being debt freeTotal remaining debt: 0

Hey, as you've said you've only been able to make a dent in these cards due to lockdown. If you can't use them responsibly my advice would be to cancel them or you'll find yourself in the same position.
Good luck!Debt Free as of December 2020 👏
