Lidl Bird Feeder, did you buy it?

Hi, did anyone buy the Lidl large metal bird feeder that was posted as a hot deal about a month ago? I did but wish I hadn't! I hung it next to the plastic feeders but no birds would go on it, I then removed the plastic feeders but still no birds would go on it. I'm thinking of covering the metal feet with something warmer in case that is the problem. I'd be interested to hear from anyone else who bought one and if they too have had problems getting birds to feed. We have dozens of birds that feed from the plastic feeders which I've now rehung. If this comes up for sale again I would strongly recommend people not to buy it.

Thats funny-i have cheap plastic (Green) feeders. Last Xmas someone bought me a "De lux" one made of metal-i notice that the seed went 3 times faster from the new one-despite wherever it was placed? strange!0

I don't now how long you have had it up but it takes birds a while to become accustomed to new things - they are very wary. Our local birds have only just started using our feeders again and we put them up 3 weeks ago.
They now manage to empty 4 feeders in 3 days though!0 -
Hi, have had the feeder up 3 or 4 weeks now. I'll leave it up alongside the others and see what happens.

Birds can be very funny when you change their feeder.Just leave it up and in time they will use it.My garden birds took 3 weeks to get use the new ones in my garden.

If you are replacing an old feeder, leave it in place until the birds become accustomed to the new one. And remember, it can sometimes take several weeks for birds to have the confidence to start visiting a new feeder, but be careful not to let the food go stale.I would like to be a glow-worm.
