Hi FOMO - I just read through your diary and you're going great guns on driving down that debt and trying to get yourself on the straight and narrow for the future. Brill!

It's a great time to make the most of extra available funds. Hopefully by getting into the swing of things now, it'll make it easier for you to keep things going once things are back to 'normal'. I'm also enjoying this extra time to save any extra money that we're saving on childcare and clubs that we can't make use of during lockdown. It makes a big difference.

You are getting so close to getting out of the £20k bracket now so keep going.

Amazing progressing with that 18K target in sight!
You're inspiring me with all the little small payments from surveys and things you're putting towards the debt payment as they really do all add up! I've started doing some surveys and saving small amounts here and there, and starting to realise the value of every pound - rather than throwing away a couple of quid here and there.
    Keep going :)

  • Thanks so much @Homegrown0 @enthusiasticsaver and @DebbyInDebt - really appreciate the kind and encouraging comments

Yes it's funny how as soon as you start to think about the odd £5 here and there helping drive down the debt how differently you think when you consider spending £5 on lunch instead of making it.

In other news, today has been a NSD!

  • Not long until payday! Managed a NSD today and also got a partial refund for a flight, so overpaid another £59 on my loan. Had a bit of a spending weekend, as had a BBQ in the garden (socially distancing of course) so spent £45 on bbq stuff, food, drinks etc.
Going to make sure the rest of the week is no spend, which should be achievable as I have food in and no plans. This should also be my last reduced salary, as my hours are going back to normal, thankfully.

Loving this beautiful weather. Hope everyone has a good week.

Great news about a little return to normality re your hours.  I have everything crossed we are going to get our flights refunded in August as it will be £500+ ( I doubt it though as it’s RyanAir) x
