  • You need a passport application form from a post office. They will tell you what to do and where to go.

  • ive just had to renew mine and it was £42! :o
scandalous! - hope you got the relevant forms - another bit of info for anybody else reading is that 6 months before your passport officially expires - you cannot travel outside the EU! so make sure you get it done in plenty of time if this will affect your travel arrange ments!

I assume you have told the Police of your loss and the Pass Port office

You need a copy of your Birth certificate and appropiate form.
Rememember. Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.

Confirming what COS has said, you will need to report it to the police and get a loss report number before the passport office will re-issue you with a replacement if it's within 10 years from when your last one was issued.

There is no way round this, I am advising you from first hand !!

  • but what if is it after 10 years.wat can she do then?

Learn from the mistakes of others - you won't live long enough to make them all yourself.
  • Take care with your passport photo.....I think the rules have changed somewhat. Look carefully at the instructions....for some countries you now need the HEADSIZE to be correct, not just the size of the actual photo. This is to do with the security procedures and scanning images which are now in place. We found Jessops to be the only ones who knew about the new rules!!!

Go to the passport agency on-line and get some of the forms filled out. they will then send you the forms part completed for you to sign. Works great with multiple applications as it saves you writing things out a million times

i've just booked a holiday and then got home and realised my passport expired in mid jan - ie less than 3 months.

problem is i go on hols on 2nd nov, ie 10 days from now, so looking at the passport office site doesn't look like time to renew it... anyone have any clue whether they're gonna let me in?! i'm going to tenerife. :-/

I'm pretty sure you're going to need a passport Rach. They might let you in to Tenerife without it but they won't let you back into the UK!! See HERE

You can get a passport in time seeHERE. It'll cost though (£89 :o)
