Good evening I’m in a receipt of a letter from CMA stating that my ex husband is claiming state benefits ( as of a nov 2019) and his child support will be £30 from May 9th. My ex is to the best of my knowledge still gainfully employed on a full time basis with an IT company
He has been contributing £600 per month for 2 of the 3 children of our marriage
this amount would decrease this summer as 1 son finishes sixth form
the youngest boy is statmented with autism and my understanding is that he should still be in receipt of maintenance as he is now in college and undertaking vocational training and ongoing academic support. I’m at a loss to understand his financial situation as he is wholly uncommunicative.

I have 35 days to appeal this CMA decision
any advice on how to proceed
I have ascertained from his employer that he is still working for the company
I have been unable to speak to anyone at the CMA due to Covid -19
kind regards

a friend works at the same company so I’m aware he’s still working0

He may well be on benefits now., with Covid since it is possible to be laid off with no pay but technically still employed by the company and entitled to claim benefits0
-
the the letter from cma states his state benefits started Nov 2019 so Pre co-vid0
-
Appeal within the timescales on the grounds that you believe he is working. If he is working and paying tax they will get the details from HMRC0

Thanks for the info0
