remortgage, pay down credit card before applying

hi
i owe roughly £5500 on a credit card, i pay around £100 a month of that and will be probably going to get a loan for a car of around £7000 in the next few weeks.
I am due to remortgage in november.
im wondering whether it would be worth trying to pay down my credit card before i apply for the remortgage, its likely i would be able to take it down maybe £1000 by november will that make any difference to what a mortgage firm would offer?

thanks

If you intend borrowing another £7k to purchase a car. Then repaying a £1k by November is neither here nor there. In terms of the impact on affordability. If you intend moving to a new lender. Try some lenders online calculators to see what the effect will be.
