Endowment pay out

We had a letter from Scottish Life saying our endowment is due to mature on 1 June. It was on track to cover the mortgage due to my overpaying every month, but due to the pandemic I am assuming the payout will be reduced due to the financial difficulties? Scottish Life cannot tell me the figure until 1 June, which I understand.
Can I keep the endowment going until the financial picture improves? Or do I take it, pay off what I can, and see what’s left still to go on the mortgage? This is my probable route, but wondered if there is any other options.
For clarity the mortgage has to be cleared by next year, and we have always had an interest only one as we took it out in 1987, when we were advised that we would get a lump sum!!! Have tried to claim for a miss selling to no avail.

I would wait till the money is in the bank and then pay off as much as possible.
See what you owe and what you can afford each month.
Payoff as much as you can every month.
