Bankruptcy

Options
Hi everyone,
I'm an ex Royal Engineer with 15years service I left in 2017.
Due to current circumstances as i have lost my job. I have about 27000 of debt built up through divorce and just living beyond my means for years.(my fault I know).I was managing to stay afloat with the debt just whilst I was in employment but now especially and looking deeper into it it was just unsustainable going forwards. I've gone through the bankruptcy application the last thing to do is press the green button to once I can save enough for the fees. My question is has anyone else been in a situation where they could not afford the fees and if so what help have they been able to get I've tried the service charities and at the moment due to the pandemic which i  understand they have bigger fish to fry. It's causing me no end of stress knowing what I need to do but no way of been able to do it yet. I resorted to trying a just giving page to see if anyone can help.

    Hey dude,
Ex RE myself, Out in 2015, default on your debts until you can save the fee.. (Get the fee anyway possible)
Is there absolutely nobody you can reach out to?

There are certain charities out there who can potentially help, so might be worth having a search around. As per the previous post, most people stop paying towards any debts and use this money for the fee where possible.

Hi I did see your name on a sapper forum on FB I think. I've been defaulting on my debt since I lost employment 7 weeks ago. I've tried ssafa but they seem reluctant other than giving generic debt advise but I think or should I say I know I'm beyond that. I've a bailiff arriving once lockdown has finished or once they can start working again. Nobody to reach out to the people I have asked can't help so although I know bankruptcy is the best option affording it is not an option at the minute

British Legion provide one off payments to help out ex servicemen/woman, they paid for my ex wifes car to have a new engine fitted, she was ex Navy, you have to apply at local level i think, i`m not 100% sure, try British Legion website.
