Hi
I am very close to the end of my Debt Management Plan (4 months) and two of the outstanding three debts are £16 and £39 respectively. The last debt is for £286. I know that one should not pay one creditor off if it will cause others to feel unequally treated, however I have worked out if I pay the two smaller debts now (which I can) the larger debt will be paid off more quickly. In this uncertain time when my income has reduced what do people think of doing this??
Will Stepchange take against me and throw me out ?
Other debts have already been paid off prior to these just with my monthly payments so I am hoping paying these quite small sums will just help everything be resolved more quickly.

You spend ages getting there, then all of a sudden it is all done and dusted. Congratulations on being at the finishing line!!!
And you can do what you want to finish the DMP. Just make the payments and be done with it. StepChange will support your endeavours.

I think that should be fine and well done on getting to the end. I am not sure of the process re payments but you should probably let them know that is what you intend doing.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. I do agree with @enthusiasticsaver though. It is polite to drop StepChange an email to let them know what you are doing...I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.
