Welcome and lots of luck to you. Well done on getting rid of your debt.

I am slightly obsessed with the OP calculator and use it in the same way as you and also to work out how much interest a one off payment will save me.

Don't forget to get your savings / pension going, you have to think of the future you too, and well done for making changes to bring a couple of bills down.

Looking forward to reading your mortgage free story as it happens! Also a guilty pleasure of playing about with the OP calculators! I have too conjured up a list like yourself of how many years I could potentially cut off my mortgage term if I overpaid a certain amount! Well done on your first OP!

@MovingForwards - yes I have savings/pensions running concurrently but I must admit I don't have a very big pension pot considering my age. I am doing the maximum pension contribution which is matched by my employer so am lucky in that respect.

Hope you are doing well and getting some time in the garden weather permitting!

  • So I got the call and I am back to work on the 27th July - woo hoo! I've been furloughed on 80% of wage which I am so grateful for but I can't wait to be back on the full amount So just under 2 weeks to haul a$$ and get all the outstanding jobs on the house finished including rebuilding the walls at the front of the house. I must say the house is looking pretty good at the moment following all the attention it has had!
