Millets/ Blacks

Just wanted to see what peoples views are with this.
I bought something from the Millets website last Wednesday and have confirmation that they have my order and its processing it's way through their warehouse. It is now 5 days later and still processing.
When I contacted them they said there might be delays due to the current climate but will not give definitive answers to shipment or delivery date.
Looking at their FB this seems familiar in that they are not shipping goods they state they have in stock and holding onto peoples money for 2 weeks before cancelling the order and refunding them.
Can I do anything to speed this up to either cancel it or get an answer on my ETA? I can get the product elsewhere slightly more expensive but guaranteed delivery in 2 days.

  • Fictitious DHL Tracking Number Calibre Triple B Mountain Bike

I seem to be having a similar experience to Mill705 but with a mountain bike (unfortunately so its a lot of money). I think that my 'DHL' tracking number for the order that I have been provided by Millets is fictitious, it is certainly not recognised by DHL.
I placed an order online on 23rd June 2020 for a Calibre Triple B Mountain Bike for an eye watering sum of £1575.00 and was then notified of dispatch on 23rd June for a delivery ETA of 30th to 2nd July. My current situation is that there is a 'delay to my delivery' (with no explanation offered) and the DHL tracking reference that Millets provide is not recognised on the courier's website. Is this a made up number? I have asked DHL to look into it.
I emailed the Millets 'Customer Care' team on 27th June and received an 'automated response' on the same day. I have still not received an explanation for why my order is being delayed or for the clearly fictitious tracking number. Today, I received a response from Millets the moment I placed a negative review on Trust Pilot. In the response they state 'Unfortunately, DHL's tracking site does not appear to be working at the moment. (Hmmm..) I have therefore emailed them to request an update as to the status of your parcel and when it is likely to be delivered. As soon as we get a response from them we will let you know'.  If nothing arrives by 2nd July, I would like a refund. At the moment I do not feel confident that Millets will deliver my order. I am likewise concerned that they will not refund me and even if they do agree to provide a refund, then delay it for as long as possible for what is a significant amount. I also understand that Go Outdoors, part of the same group is being re-structured by its parent company JD Sports so I am understandably concerned. Be warned when buying from Millets, Blacks and Go Outdoors.
