Bright House washer/dryer

I have a washer/dryer from Brighthouse which costs me £9.60 pw. I know it's madness but I was desperate at the time when I bought it.
If I put it on my list of debts when I submit my bankruptcy, will they be able to take it away or will it be classed as an essential payment? I think my payments actually end in October 2020.
Many thanks

As far as the OR is concerned you should be able to keep it as it is secure debt for an essential item, the issue will be with Brighthouse as they may terminate the agreement and seek to reclaim the goods. Check the Ts and Cs.0

In all likelihood no, but see what the Ts and Cs say in relation to bankruptcy.1

As this company is in Administration I'm not sure what will happen1

5 repayments left on what was probably a multi year deal. I expect a washing machine that’s had a couple of years use is worth little, especially once cost of collection is factored in0

Hi it’s worth very little second hand so in my opinion include it in your BR and wait and see.But have a read of the T&C first0

You could just stop paying, the brighthouse loan book has not been sold as yet, its unclear when that may be, if at all, as brighthouse had an unwritten policy of not chasing debts more than 90 days in arrears, so how that plays out in administration is anyones guess. The OR is not interested in your secondhand household goods, if you had a piccaso or two on your bedroom wall, well that would be a different matter.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
