UK citizen, non-resident - how do I remortgage?

I am a UK citizen but currently living abroad in Denmark. I moved about 2 years ago for work and intend to remain for about 5 more years, and then return to the UK. I would like to remortgage my UK home. All the lenders I find so far ask for UK residency - is it now impossible for me to remortgage?

You can do a product switch with your current mortgage provider

The property is now let, but my original mortgage is not buy to let.

Majority of BTL mortgages are only accessible via mortgage brokers.

Similar situation; wife lives in Germany with € income whilst I live in the UK with £ income.

Surely, must be possible for a remortgage? Look at how many non-doms can build up property empires by releasing equity in their properties!

We'd love to finally do up the house but would need to remortgage to do so.

It is possible to remortgage in your situation (subect to overall case).  You just wont be able to do it directly as like Thrugelmir states,  most BTL lenders are broker only

I have just done a mortgage for someone who lives in abu dhabi - it is possible but one for a broker
