A mortgage broker will search the market.
A bank will offer you whatever they have.
If you choose the right bank or do the research yourself and do a decent job - which includes checking criteria not just the rate/fees - then you will likely come out with the same deal as the broker.
Most brokers will charge a fee so chances are it will be cheaper to go direct, but a broker will deal with it all on your behalf and pre-empt many problems and also be liable for the advice.
There is no definitive answer as to which is best/cheapest. A lot will come down to you, the broker and your circumstances.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Bank maybe more labour intensive and undergoing affodability interviews which can be time consuming
Broker you fill in a Fact finding form, maybe speak to a broker and you let them do the leg work, Some are free, some charge a fee, your choice, but you get what you pay for"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

Brokers are whole of market. Bank staff only offer their own product.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0
