Supermarket differences in best before date for Long life milk

The long life milk currently being sold in Sainsbury's has a best before date of February 2021 whilst Aldi milk has a date of October 2020. Does that mean the Aldi milk has already been stored in a warehouse for months before going on the shop shelves. Or is long life milk processed to different standards for different supermarkets especially given the price difference between the two supermarkets and this reduces the shelf life of the milk?

I suspect it's because the discount supermarkets buy the stuff which has been stored longer. I always buy the cheaper UHT as we use it all the time so it never has time to go out of date in our house!
