Mortgage advisor fee on application

Thanks, all! I signed the contract with the broker because he sent the following replies to my questions (see below). Let me know what you all think. Does anyone know how binding email replies are though? I am not yet tied to this broker and I can always change my mind before application (which is when the fee is charged). I am not in a hurry at all as I have not even seen any properties due to the lockdown. I just wanted to get a sense of how much mortgage I could get for a house in London based on my history and salary so that I know where to even start searching for a home. I already had a one-hour meeting with the broker and he was straightforward about the fee and process:
1. Will you be able to see the application through offer to completion or is there another fee for those services? There is only one fee and I will see the application to completion with you without any other payments."
2. What happens if the application is rejected and I have to submit another one? Will I pay the charge again? In such case we don’t charge another fee – I will submit another application for you with another lender if needed under the same payment.
3. What happens if I get gazumped? Will I pay another charge for another application? Again – we won’t charge the fee again if you need to find a different property and we have to submit your application again.
