Hi Martin & all at MSE & a HUGE thank you for all you're doing for us.
I have a question about furlough please; I work part time on a casual/seasonal basis as an Examinations Invigilator. The college where I work closed on 20th March & all exams have been cancelled by the Examination Boards. I have asked if we are to be furloughed as obviously the next few months is normally our busiest time of year. The response I received is that 'the legal position in relation to the Government’s Job Retention Scheme is complicated. The advice that the College have received from the Association of Colleges and the Sixth Form Colleges Association is that government funded organisations, such as our College, are not permitted to Furlough their staff. The College are aware that some Colleges are doing this, however they may have different sources of income in addition to their government funding'.
I am unable to apply for Universal Credit due to the level of savings I have for a house deposit.
Is there anything else I can do please?
Take care.

New style JSA is your only option providing you've paid enough NI contributions in tax years April 2017 to March 2019. For over 25's in pays £74.35 per week for 26 weeks.
