Hi I hope someone can help I had a piggy loan over 7 years ago 0f apparently£151 , they’ve only been chasing it past 6 months I’ve sent them 2 statute barred letters, before this I asked them for proof of this debt because I don’t even remember it they even sent me an email saying payment was due 7 years ago and 2 months and that there has not been any communication since .
now I’ve gone on my credit file and it’s showing up on there as open account and they’ve done a hard search . Any advice please would be amazing.

Have you escalated the statute barred letters as a written complaint?I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.

£151? That seems a bit of a strange amount to borrow. How much are they saying you owe now? You say you don't remember taking it out, but you don't sound certain? Surely you would remember if you'd used a company called 'Piggy Bank'? That's quite distinctive. Could anyone else have taken it out in your name, like a partner or child?0

I remember taking a payday loan out I thought it was around £80 that’s all I can remember , I was made homeless around this time and became out of work so in a bad place . My life’s back on track 8 years down the road looking to buy a house hopefully next year now this is showing up on my credit report which is what annoying me the most I received an email back from piggy bank saying they basically know it’s statute barred but they are by law allowed to contact me.which I know is true but how can it be right for them to do a hard search and put it back on my report?0

Oh and they say I now owe £4800

What is the default date on your credit file ?If no payments have been made since that date, then its statute barred, write and tell them that, have no other communications with them, writing only.If they issue a claim, statute barred is a complete defense, until then ignore them.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. They said default was feb 2013. But it’s the effect they are putting on my credit file now can they do this 8 years later?

Are you sure it was 7 years ago.
I had payday loans out pretty heavily between 2009 - 2011 and don't recognise it as a firm steady name of old at all. 247 moneybox who featured a pink pig face logo for the most part, lending stream, cfo, cash genie, mini credit, wage day advance, pounds till payday, payday express, payday uk, could go on but we'd be here all night for the older years.
There is a 'Piggybank' now in administration (since Dec 19 if based in Bournemouth) but a certain reviews platform would rather indicate they did only really start receiving customer reviews in the year of 2017......

it does link in maybe if you have started being chased only 6 months ago as that it seems it when administrators would have moved in on.0 -
You said it says the default date is February 2013. I cannot see that in your screenshot.I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.
