If you are classed as extremely vulnerable but, like me, you didn't get your NHS letter till late (mine arrived 15 April),  you then fill in the Government form, you will not be able to register with Sainsbury's for grocery deliveries.   They closed the registrations over a month ago and, although it is not clear from the website, only those who were registered with them before this time and were also on the Government list that Sainsbury's originally received will be contacted.

This is the information I got from Sainsbury's when I rang them this morning.

I know that registration has been closed to the general public for some time but I was rather hoping that they would register me as extremely vulnerable.  I am now waiting to hear from other supermarkets where I am registered already.

    UPDATE
Since writing the foregoing I found out from a neighbour that registrations have re-opened but they are only offering Click and Collect at present.
The website tells me that the extremely vulnerable who register will be offered delivery slots if their data is passed on to Sainsbury's by the Government.
I've registered so let's see whether they contact me.

We had a click and collect order at Sainsbury's yesterday and it went perfectly. After we got there and saw the queue to get into the store, which was all the way along the store side, we were very glad we did the Click and Collect, it only took 5 minutes and the man packing the car up was great! They just parked the van with the orders as far from the store as they could and 'delivered' them from there to your car, in a specified spot nearby.

Yes, Sainsbury's have contacted me and offered me " . . . priority access to home delivery slots."
Asda contacted me very quickly after I completed the gov.uk form (about two-and-a-half weeks ago) but I've heard nothing from Tesco, Ocado, Waitrose, Morrisons or Iceland, all of whom I am registered with.

Strange - my wife is diabetic so on the "high" list - Waitrose and Sainsburys offered priority slots but not the other supermarkets even though we had accounts with them. Seems quite hit and miss, yes?
