refused payments

I’ve asked my company for furlough, they have refused to pay it, I’ve applied to family credit, but as my partner is still in work, we wont be able to claim, I’ve spoke to HMRC, they cant do anything, so now I’m not working, no income, who can i go to for advice?

What advice are you looking for? If your partner is still working are you able to get by on their wages and your emergency fund for a few more weeks?

It's up to your employer whether they furlough or not. From what you have written, you are receiving no wages though - what is the reason for this? Have you chosen not to go into work, have you been laid off, or have you been furloughed but the company cannot pay until they receive payments from the government? You say 'my company', but then you say 'now I'm not working' - can you clarify the position please? If you have chosen not to work, and your company have decided not to furlough you, could you return to work?
Your partner's income will be taken into account for Universal Credit. It appears that they earn too much for you to receive any. They will be expected to support you from their income if this is the case.

If you've paid enough NI contributions from working in tax years April 2017 to March 2019 then you can claim New style JSA. For over 25's it pays £74.35 per week for 26 weeks. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/new-style-jobseekers-allowance

Other than that as you're living with a partner then you are supposed to support you.

  • I work for a driving agency, they get me driving jobs, when other businesses need a driver. Ive not had any work since 14/04/20, I usually get 40 to 60 hours work, bringing £400 to £600 before deductions, my partner is taking home £300. It’s a massive loss! The company say they wont pay me furlough, as they are actively looking for work for me and there 300 employees. It’s fair enough i can accept what there saying, so I’ve looked at other ways to make any loss of earnings up, I’ve little in the Bank, perhaps enough for a couple more weeks... and then what?

For Universal Credit if you live with a partner then you claim as a couple. Although said you weren't entitled to "family credit" I'm assuming you mean Universal Credit because there's no such benefit as family credit.

If you're not entitled to UC then look at New style JSA because that's your only option.
