I won a Currys compeition, but received nothing

Hi guys.

I'm new here so first post, not sure if this is the best place for it or not?

I'll try and keep this short as possible, so....I bought a TV from Currys online, and had it delivered. I then got an email from them saying that if you enter there is a 1 in 10 chance of getting 50% of the cost of the TV back. For me this was £900 back if I won, so well worth it. So anyway, I followed the instructions and I entered, it gave me the message back that I had won! They would be in touch to discuss within 14 days I think it was (This is way back in December now) So didn't hear anything, and found a number to contact them on. I spoke to the advisor who said they were having problems their end, and to just bear with them, to which I did. So this goes on for around a month various different responses from advisors. Eventually it gets to the point where I call again, and the number I usually rang gave the me the message words to the effect of "This number for the 1 in 10 competition is now closed" So basically what seems to have happened is they have just fobbed me off for a month knowing that eventually the number would be dead. I can now no longer get anywhere with this.

So that's the basic scenario, here is my question.... Im wondering if anyone knows where I can take this? As it must be a genuine competition (being through currys) it must be regulated somehow by someone? I wondered if anyone on here knew of anything, or where to start regarding this.

they probably have better things to do at the moment as they have a limited number working in customer service but looking at FB they have had problems with this for some while - 10 weeks ago


" After emailing and calling twice because the link would not work I was told I had won on 5th January. I have since then uploaded my receipt three times and have a trail of 25 emails sent/received from the promotions team. Can you please find out for me what is going on and when I will receive my cheque."

but after numerous other posts they said 2 days ago 

"I received my cheque on Friday has taken since January band at times I never thought I would get it but all good it’s here and I’m chuffed to get the tv at half price. Great competition but it really shouldn’t take so long because it spoils the thrill of the win".
