Hi,
I am in the “vulnerable” category of COVID-19 and my child hasn’t been in with his childminder since 20 March which we paid a full month for. Although I thought she might do a discount, we paid a full month of £700 for April and now I’ve been asked for another full payment of £700 for May.

I’m unable to leave as I will need childcare when I return to work in June and also am contracted to 4 weeks notice.
Is there anything published that states I shouldn’t have to pay the full amount and should be given a discount.

No such law exists. Without being rude, it's incredibly foolish to carry on paying.0

But then when I need her after this is over she might not take him as I haven’t fulfilled the contract.0

There are thousands (tens of thousands) of childminders, pretty much all of them are now out of work. I suspect keeping a good relationship with you would be far more important to her, than vice versa.
I'd have paid her a 10% retainer whilst all this is going on, and that's on the basis that she then provides a minimum of 6 months chilldcare.0
