Car Finance Scam?

Hi All,
My car has been for sale for a while - we are in negative equity on the finance of around £6k but I've left the advert running on the off chance someone wants to pay what I owe on it.
A guy has rang up saying his brother works in Audi and they are able to buy the vehicle and use internal discounts to buy the vehicle at my asking price.
Obviously sounds really suspect - he's asking to see a copy of the finance agreement, after which he and his brother will work their magic and I then I can cancel the direct debit. He hasn't asked any questions about the car other than the mileage.
I'm probably going to walk away but part of me thinks - as long as I call Audi finance myself and confirm the finance is cleared I should be OK?
Any thoughts appreciated

    Looks fishy to me.
Why has the brother not contacted you himself ?
I wouldn't myself go through with this.
Maybe ask for the number (the work number of course) for the brother and google it, see what it comes up with.

It also doesn't make any sense....what do they mean the interest you've paid will pay the shortfall. That's complete nonsense....

I know when I sold my S5 to a trader before the PCP was up, he had to pay all the money directly to me and I had to settle the finance from VWFS, as the finance company wouldn't accept settlement from another party.

Is the £29,750 the settlement? Have trade offers only been around the £23,250 mark (hence you suggesting it's £6,500 in negative equity?).

    Thanks for the replies guys.
We owe about 36k on the car, but its only worth 30ish.
I've been thinking of ways I could validate what they're saying - ie ring up the audi branch that the brother apparently works at to check he works there and speak to him.
Also if what they are doing IS legit why not do it on a car that ISNT in negative equity like mine, surely there is more money to be made.  He's not shown any interest in the car itself up to this point either, surely he'd be asking about condition, history etc.
I don't want to pass up on an opportunity to be rid of the vehicle if it is legit, but I can't see how it can be.
He's assured me I can speak to the finance company to verify once it's done, I'm trying to work out how they could clear the finance then somehow reverse clearing it or something!

I wouldn't go through with this unless you are absolutely sure, so yes i would call the branch he works at and find out if he is in fact real or not that is the only way if your happy with what he is proposing but if not just don't go through with it.

Speak in person to these 2 individuals, don't do business with any person, ever, without having a verbal conversation, you just don't do business that way and this whole thing is just asking for trouble.
Get them to provide you with all pertinent details regarding these people's roles within the company, aswell as providing proof of the actions they'll take regarding the finance and paperwork, do it verbally, do it written, do it every way you can and even then be wary.

If there truly is facility for doing things like this, then surely the simplest thing is sell the car back to the dealer.

If that doesn't add up to quite such a good deal for either you or them, then why would they help someone else outside the company to bypass and undercut their chance to make profit?

OP Do you really need us to tell you this is a scam?
Basically a way to take the car off you without exchanging any money....you're left with no car and an outstanding finance agreement for £36k...

I would not go near with a barge poll OP.
